“This connection and appreciation for the natural world offers a place to emotionally process life, my studio provides a place to express it.”

Bio

I was raised on the outskirts of Philadelphia, when my love for Colorado’s wild landscapes blossomed during childhood on trips in my grandparents’ camper. This early connection to the Midwest's beauty inspired me to move to Boulder after high school, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design in 1987.

After graduation, I began my career as a Design Engineer at Hewlett Packard, studying how office environments affect employee behavior. I later completed an M.F.A. in 2001, focusing on emotive installations and sculptures.

Currently, I work at Art Parts, a non profit creative reuse center, and actively participate in the local art community, exhibiting my work and volunteering. My contributions were recognized with the Boulder Open Studios Tour People’s Choice Award in 2015 and the NOBO Art Districts’ People’s Choice Award in 2022.

I live in Boulder County with my husband and children, enjoying Colorado’s natural beauty through hiking, biking and camping.

Statement

My artwork serves as a means to process and interpret the world around me. When an experience, event, or idea resonates emotionally, I begin to visualize these feelings and engage with my materials in a conceptual play. As the narrative— the backbone of the piece—takes shape, the work naturally evolves into its physical form.

I’ve found that materials possess a powerful beauty when used in certain contexts. By juxtaposing them, I craft a visual language that, like a journal, captures what I see and sense, referencing time, history, suffering, power, connection, healing, and beauty. Through this artistic language, I aim to articulate and visually express the intricate connections between our internal and external worlds.
